7eix plugs are built or made just for the purpose of a motor under full boost or the boost conditions
6eix do run a bit hotter to keep the temp. elevated in the cylinder chambers.
7eix`s in stop and go traffic the motor would cool (a correctly operating one)
if using the 6eix in the motor in stop and go traffic the motor would stay at its operating temp. with a less chance of falling under its normal operating temp. which would
creating lower temps in the chambers and resulting in unburnt fuel, dropping the gas mileage of the car.
but even though they sound like a dream come true to give good gas mileage in town they have a major draw back in a turbo motor.
when a motor is boosted the mix fuel air mix is leaned out which will raise the chambers temps. to bring the motor closer to its knock
if the motor was boosted with the 6iex,..
when the motors chambers temp raises from normal boost, with the 6iex firing on top of that the temps in the chambers would be so high i cant see the knock sensor ever giving a good boost with out having it shut the boost down, if the knock sensor was by-passed and the motor was boosted with the 6iex`s im sure it would not be to long before a valve was melted or the motor ended up with a hole in the top of a piston.
the 7iex`s are made just for turbos, they truly shine when in the midst of a boost.
when the motor is boosted the plug will fire under the lean conditions and keep its cool, the only thing left is to boost the fuel consumption in full boost so the mix dose not get leaned out.
the temp. of the plug will be down and the turbo leaning the mix would be to null, with both temp. over flows taken care of the car
well........ would punch a hole in the next zip code.
(only if the fuel consumption is maximized for boost at full load would the 6iex be ok)
now this sounds fun but when the car with 7iex and boosted fuel consumption, put in stop and go traffic.... the car would get the gas mileage of a hummer (around 8 miles to the gallon)
in other sense, fuel would be dripping out the tail pipe at a red light.
with just the 7eix running in stop and go traffic, the motor would run a little on the cool side the fuel consumption wouldn`t be bad at all (round 27-28 mpg) (on a motor with no fuel consumption boost)
6iex (29-30) in town
how little the difference running the 6iex is in no way a good idea. for a turbo that is.
