I spent most of the day yesterday replacing a rusty rear caliper and pads (both sides) on my 1991 900tc. I had to replace the caliper because I broke the bleeder off a couple of weeks ago when trying to flush the brakes. The job was made quite difficult by the prior owner who made liberal use of red loctite (ouch!). I still need to properly adjust the emergency brake. The one thing I was unable to do was to replace the rubber hose leading to the caliper. Even with the proper size flare wrench I was unable to get the old one to budge. Fortunately, it is in decent shape, although I would like to replace it before winter. Are there any tricks to getting the old one to come off? I tried kroil and force but stopped when it looked like I was going to break the metal line.
