Before you start thinking about replacing them you might want to pull both units and check the connections. You should have the tool to pull them in your manual pack (my '93 convertible included it). They are two horse-shoe shaped, deals that come in a plastic packet. They are about the thickness of a ball point pen refill and have notches at the end. You insert them into the two holes on either side of the radio, pry outward carefully and pull at the same time. The whole unit will come out. Check the connections for dirt/corrosion, and buff them up a little. Do the same for the correspoding connections inside the cavity they came out of. Slide them back in until you hear a click, see if they work better/at all.
