I put my '91 in what I would call long-term storage, meaning 1+ years.
1. Cleaned it inside and out, waxed exterior
2.Changed oil, filter, gear oil, coolant
3. Put it on jack stands with e-brake off
4. Fogged the cylinders with a marine fog
5. Put dryer sheets and baking soda in open Tupperware containers in the interior
6.Put moth balls in open Tupperware containers (2) where the battery was and on top of the engine to deter mice.
7.Remove battery
8.Put the double rate of Sta-Bil in the gas tank prior to fill up and drive it for a few miles to ensure that it gets through the fuel system. Double rate allows fuel storage up to two years.
9. Fill the fuel tank all the way to prevent condensation
10. Put cover on car. Mine is stored inside, so I just used a dust cover.
11.Put rags over air intake and exhaust and seal with duct tape to keep intruders out.
These are not in order, I wrote them down as I thought of them. Every month I spin the front and rear wheels to make sure the brakes do not freeze up. It is in a dry place, but I would rather be safe. Plus it gives me a chance to look at it.
Best regards,
Jon
