Engine noise and Radio installation (anntenna)

Hello all,
I have two questions: I have a very nice engine (1993 51,000 miles) in a 1985 SPG. The hood was messed up on the 1985 SPG. I purchased a 1983 hood and put it on the 1985 SPG but there is little installation under the hood. While driving I can hear the engine noise--no rattle--the engine is just loud. I think the 1985 hood has a better installation under the hood and that is causing me to hear engine noise more. Has anyone experience this problem and what can be done to correct it. Should I put the installation from the 1985 hood to the 1983 hood?
My other question is about hooking up the anntenna. My anntenna works when I put direct voltage to it. The problem is someone rewired the wires to a radio and I can not figure out what wire coming from the car to hook to the anntenna wire. According the wiring diagram in the Bentley shows a green wire coming from the car that I should hook up to the radio. The wire on the Sony radio anntenna wire from the radio is marked with a sticker is blue. Is the wire coming from the car green or blue? I just can not figure how to hook this up and make it work. Any suggestions would be deeply appeciated on both questions. As always, many thanks. george.
