Neat Alternative for Tack Strips on Convertible

I thought that this was too cool. I was watching the DIY network. They have a car restoration show called "Classic Car Restoration."
We suffer with the cost of replacement tack strips. The top guy uses think pieces of oak strip in place of the traditional tack strip.

They also comment that top half should be measured from the centre posts. It was a problem I had as well. My top was cut too short from the supplier. I could of gotten around it by starting there, but that's a whole other story.
Hope this helps,
Lee
