I read the thread the other day regarding authentication of SPG’s spawned by the 1991 Beryl Green SPG on eBay. I have a 1991 SPG and I was sure that it was and is one. But just to absolutely positive, I called Saab USA and had it validated. The customer service representative I spoke with was very helpful and accommodating with my request. They reference the last 8 digits of the cars serial number to verify. Mine is M5011054. The number to call if you wish to do the same is 770-279-0100. My SPG has the 140 speedometer, EGR device in the front as all of the 1991’s had to meet California smog standards, and had the high octane sticker inside the gas door. I hope this is helpful as I realize there are a lot of clone’s out there.
