No stranger to the topic, based on research done for my father-in-law and his '93 convert tail-light woes (ended up requiring a total re-wire, based on the various hack-jobs done over the years.) Now I am afflicted, albeit a different incarnation... Wiring O.E. - not touched to my knowledge - searched and don't see any matching scenarios.
O.K. - I thought I had a bad bulb on the pass side tail-light cluster, outer bottom lamp (brake and tail bulb, so dual filiment) I replaced the bulb, only to find the one in there was ok... hmmmm... So I started to notice a few oddities from here - 1) driving at night I would find the right directional signal indicator on the dash would glow faintly when the brakes were applied (signal not on.) The signal works fine, as long as the brakes were not on, but if I hit the brakes while signaling, the signal would stop working. 2) I also noted that the rear pass. side cluster (same one) only has the inner bottom lamp on when the headlights are on (no brakes/ signal active,) and it is as if the brakes are on with this bulb only - driver side as as it should be. 3) the reverse lights also stopped working, presumably at about the same time.
Any ideas?
