First, remove the other bolt and remove the door handle entirely. Don't lose the plastic "washer" that sits between the door handle and the body on the forward end.
Next, holding the screw in place on the end of the door, thread it on to the bracket, and just barely. With that in place, reinstall the door handle (front first, don't tighten that bolt yet so it can still pivot) and insert the handle into the door working it above the release lever for the door latch and then down to hook it on. With the lever pulling on the latch normally, press the door handle down against the rear edge of its seating surface, slide the locking plate (the piece attached to that rear screw) in place so it won't fall out of the door. With your fourth hand, tighten the rear attachment bolt. You may need to take a few stabs at it to get that locking plate to fully engage the indoors part of the door handle. When the rear is in place, finish tightening the front and you're done.
