Fog light switch wierdness Posted by notnoel [Email] |
Anybody else have this happen or have a fix? I finally installed some foglights and everything went fine. The weather was warm (as it has been most of the winter here in the east) and so the heat was off (top down too, not bad for January in DC!). Anyway, when I turn on the heat, the switch will click in, but not far enough for the lights to stay on -- seems like the plastic expands and some critical tolerance is exceeded.
The lights come on if you push the switch in and hold it with your finger, and occasionally I can jiggle it to where they stay on for a while, but the first bump I hit they go off again. I changed the switch to another one I had and the same thing happened. It seems like as soon as the plastic gets warm, the switch no makes contact and the fog lights go dark.
Anybody been there, done What?
