brake question

Hi there,
in the process of replacing brakes and rotors... I am doing the rear brakes of my 89 turbo, and as i backed out the 14mm bolt that covers the piston adjustment bolt (the 7mm internal hex head one) some brake fluid oozed out. Some more oozed out when i pushed the piston back against its stop, probably about a couple teaspoons. Is this indicative of a failed caliper, and should i replace (money is a bit tight right now) or can it wait for another month? good to know for the brakes i would guess... the right rear seems fine, but if replacing the left caliper, should i definitely do the right?
thanks for the help
