Well.......Saved my 1990 from the bone yard (acquisition = $936). New power steering rack, pump, lines, and reservoir ($400). New brakes and rotors all around ($250). New distributor ($130), Junkyard bumper for rear ($50), replaced leather seats with matching original leather (ala Ebay, $125), broken headlight, side marker and window ($200). New Bilsteins ($140), new exhaust ($280, battery ($75), and calibrated turbo gauge ($40). Major renovations at the shop: 1)rebuild of front axles/CV joints, replace main crankshaft seal, and misc. other repairs ($2,200), and 2) new head gasket ($900). I put about 10,000 miles on it, so that's .57 per mile.
Saving a great old lady $5,726. DIY spring assisted vacuum advance capsule/ adjustable retard stop mod that jumped my performance and raised my mileage to 25 mpg for an autobox ($ zero). Driving a classic Saab convertible, priceless.
