just did this job last weekend using these (or similar) directions from past postings. A few things to watch for: (1) when reassambling, I used #4, 1/2 inch screws. If you use anything bigger you can shatter the plastic stand-offs that the screw goes into. (ask me how I know this) (2) getting the mirror off--- on two recycled (salvage) mirrors, the first one came off easy (rotate white plastic lock ring 15 degrees or so). On my second (driver's side) mirror, the lock ring was very stuck. I sprayed silicon into the space between the lockring and mirror, then let it sit for a few hours. It finally rotated free after many gentle tries. Too much force will break it. (3) bending the T-bar--- it's pot metal, but surpisingly bendable! And there are several ways to bend it, some of which work and some of which make the wobble problem even worse. After you bend it, put things together and make sure you bent it in the correct direction before you lock everything down. My first repair took me "all day", the second time around about 20 min...
