I own a 93 Commemorative Edition 3-door Turbo and a 94 Commemorative Edition Convertible.

The 93 was not produced within a specific VIN range - so determining it's "place" in the pecking order will be difficult.

As you correctly noted, the 93 3-door is solid black paint, tan interior with gray twisty-spoke wheels, a wood dash, and red box. It also has the Saab Roadholding Kit suspension al la the SPG. The door panels on the commemorative also have a little leather flap on the top edge like the convertibles - and unlike the standard turbo.

The badging of the car included a console-mounted plaque that showed its number out of 325. In actuality, 317 were built as the full 325 were not ordered.

The 94 commemorative is a convertible. That car is distinguished by the nova black - pearl metallic paint, the same charcoal gray twisty-spoke wheels as the 93 commemorative, a red box, a tan leather interior with black piping on the seats, a tan fabric roof and a wood dash. A wood glovebox and ashtray were accessories added by owners as they did not come standard fron the factory with them as part of the series. Unlike the 93 Commemorative, the 94 convertibles were produced in a defined VIN range because and their number out of 500 can be so determined.

Both cars came delivered with leather shift knobs and leather shift gaiters. Wood knobs are accessories - again added by owners.

Based on your VIN report - you definitely have an example of a 93 Commemorative. You should join Saabnet and post some photos in the gallery!! :)
