O2 sensor...what the devil?

Hey everybody,
I recently posted about my 84 turbo driving poorly, as if it were starved for fuel. I replaced the cap, rotor, plugs, wires and fuel filter to no avail. Then I suspected the o2 sensor. Heres where things get a little strange. Testing the voltage with the sensor disconnected gave me only about 0.08 volts, well below what Bentley tells me it should be, so I figured it was bunk. I disconnected it and the car drove perfectly, then reconnected it and the problem returned, so I trashed it and figured I had my problem solved. I installed a brand new sensor and the problem did not go away! This one also gives a voltage way below the manual specifications. The car still runs perfectly with the sensor disconnected, so whats next? Do I start looking for a bad wire somewhere, or should I suspect the brain, or what? Help please! Thanks a million in advance,
-Max
