ok - I have been debbling with the taillight fix on my hibernating '92 convert. I tried the andrews ground fix, but the left (driver) circuit board and harness connector were badly melted, ao when it didn't "take" I was not surprised. So now I have replaced the driver side board (new from eeuroparts) and the harness connector (used, but perfect shaepe), but still have funkiness, especially in the pass. side cluster. Basically when I put on the right signal I get all bulbs flashing, and the right turn signal indicator glows dimly (at least at night, which is when it is noticable.) Now, this is the behavior without the Andrews ground on that board "grounded" - when I ground it (touching the grounded-at-the-cross-member wire to the grounding screw I installed on the circuit board per Andrews.) all the lights go off and clearly A LOT of current is flowing through the ground wire (evidenced by the sparks/smoke where I touch the wire.) So what do I have going on here? is the circuit board on the right (passenger) side bad too? The board and connector look pristine... Is the problem still "on the left" and I just have new pieces doomed to a melted future? This is getting tiresome!
Curiously, the connector I received from English-Swedish came attached to a circuit board that had the grounding fix, but it was grounded in a different place? Are there various points that work? (This was on a totally different "circuit")
