Check the hose connections at the by pass valve (hooter valve). If the hose running from the BPvalve to throttle body is loose or disconnected, it can cause this type of idle problem. The plastic clamps loose their grip when years add up and back pressure can blow the hose off. Solution is to replace the hose on the fitting and secure it with a worm drive clamp.
Also, maybe the air mass meter is tired.
