I've had a LOT of cars the last 35 years and the wife was witness to all but about 4. Most were used with a couple of new ones mixed in for her. We were not on the same page for some, ok most. Of the Camaros, Chevelles, 528I's, Z3's, Cutlass Supreme, Skylarks, Kharmann Gia etc etc, she never really said much, in fact she just shook her head at most of them with that look of "when are you going to grow up?". I decided last fall that I wanted (needed) a convertible again. Having a strict budget I went searching on fleebay. My first choice was going to be a MB 380 or 450SL, but the price/age/condition just didn't fit. Having never owned a Saab, I gave them a quick glance, but moved on. I was ready to blow the budget when a 92 900TC with 108k located in Detroit caught my eye. Now, I'm in NY, so you know what the wife said and thought, but I was determined. After a lot of investigating, including this great website, I flew out sight unseen in the morning, picked it up and drove the 750 miles back the same day. After my local indy (Paul - Star motors in St. James - one word - GREAT), gave it his blessing I packed it away for the winter. As the weather just broke here in NY, top was down yesterday with the wife in tow. After about an hour driving, she says - "You know how I felt about you buying this car the way you did, but I have to say this is the NICEST car you've ever had" - I of course, agree. Sometimes, life is good.
