jd, the reason that I mentioned measuring some other axles is that I don't KNOW that the axles that I took out were the CORRECT length, just that they were longer than the ones that I put in. I ordered them from eEuroparts specifically for my 89. It is POSSIBLE that the axles that came out were the WRONG. They seemed to engage far enough into the inner driver. If they did not engage far enough, I would NOT have installed them. I know that the axle lengths changed at some point, but I don't know what years were what length.
Does anyone know what year the axle lengths changed?
