NAPA sells a product called "Extend" that treats rust. I've used this with moderate success.
I noticed a pruduct in Home Depot near the fiber glass and epoxy section that was made too treat rust. I think made by "Loctite", but I'm not positive.
Both are spary cans.
The problem with Bondo is that it absorbes water. Not good since trapped water is perfect for the formation of more rust.
I'm not a body repair person, but I think a better method would be too cut away the rusted area and fabricate a new peice to fill the cut area. Then weld this in place. Make small welds, grind them down, prime, and paint.
This will be my methodology this summer when the 88 CT goes down for long overdue maintenance cycle.
I'll try to take some pictures.
I have now donned my flame suit on if someone more experienced with autobody repair wants to let her rip.
