Martin,
Updating the 900S is possible but you would need to keep charging pressures fairly low due to the 900S compression ratio, camshafts, fueling, etc. For the conversion you will need to search (try local salvage yards or dismant.)for a turbo exhaust manifold (this will install directly onto the 900S in place of the current manifold), turbocharger (Try staying with an oil cooled unit from the 1987 and under 900. this will eliminate the need for running coolant inlet and outlet lines), turbocharger oil inlet and return lines, exhaust downpipe and exhaust system from the 900T. A turbo 900 intercooler, intake pipe, intercooler plumbing, etc. will make installation more successful.
For each psi of charging pressure, factor a 5-6 BHP improvement to the 900S and typical maximum pressures are at 7-8 psi. If looking to increase fueling, a turbo fuel injector could be installed or a rising rate fuel pressure regulation could be employed using the OEM fuel injector.
Best of luck and regards,
GaryK at SWEDISH DYNAMICS,INC.
