Rear wiper info... The rear wipers were never officially offered in the US. The 1988 (and some 1987) hatchbacks were the only cars equipped with a plug to accomodate the wiper in this country.
The wipers were offered as options in Canada, as well as in Europe. They were never very popular due to the cost (both of the kit and installation) and the lack of apparent need for a rear wiper on the C900 cars.
The wipers are installed through the aforementioned hole at the bottom of the rear window glass. The wiper motor mounts on a bracket at the bottom of the window.
It is operated via a dedicated switch, or in combination with the front wash/wipe lever - meaning both front and rear is washed at the same time.
The washer tubing runs the length of the car and over the headliner to a jet mounted on the roof (you need to drill a hole in your Saab). The washer fluid tank is a different piece - with two washer pump motors in it.
The kits are quite uncommon and sell in the $300 range (in pieces) and upwards of $600 for a full new/barely used and complete kit.
Additionally, the motors are notorious for failing - and with the absence of available stock...you could be left with a rear wiper that simply does not work.
