Make sure the two fuses behind the radio are secure in their slots. And make sure the two cables that connect to the CD/EQ are secure as well. Those need to be connected or you'll get a CODE warning. If the CD/EQ is gone, a jumper connecting the two cables together would be needed; that needs to be tight too.
While you're at it, check ALL the cables that connect to the back of the cage and the connectors inside the cage that mate with the radio.
Don't enter the wrong code three times or it's a pain to resolve.
