Thanks to everyone for the suggestions. I will pass them on.
A little more information - Since the car was running normally the Saturday (the problems happend Friday), and the Saab Dealer & other repair shop were closed, they spent the day at a National Park about 50 miles away. The car ran fine except for acting up a little bit mid day. The car sat for at least 3 hours while they hiked around and then ran fine when the drove another 50 miles to the campground. My son said that he talked with one person who pointed out that some of the gas in the area is only 85 octane which is what he probably filled the tank with last. My son has always used 87 since he owned the car. We were wondering if this (possible combined with the 5000 ft altitude) could be contributing.
