if you get a car fax report that shows when the jump in odometer is or where the error occured you can get it on record somehow. say it jumped in one year from 80,000 to 300,000 .... You should be able to get something certified to show that it was faulty or replaced..... I had mine checked when i bought an SPG with 54,000 on the odometer. - The car actually looked nice enough to only have that many miles except for the front bumeper cover. It was about destroyed from dried armourall or something. The price was unbelievable if the car only had that many miles on it, so i did a carfax and it showed the car's odometer was replaced at 200,000 miles with a new odometer. - The odometer now reads 304,000 miles, so if someone would check it shouldn't be hard to see how many miles the car has on it from that. - The car still looks like it only has 80,000 miles on it, but you can decide from th below photo ;0)
- hope that helps - paul
