I considered that - but I'd hate to put a car together and find some minor problem I'd overlooked. Plus, they have actual tools for measuring wear while I'd just be eyeballing it.
Visually, the bores look pretty good - the lips are still there, although there are some minor carbon deposits along them. The bottom end also looks good & clean. Piston tops look a little carbony, especially #4, but they generally look good. I'm not surprised given how much carbon dust there was in the engine - it all came off the pistons!
Nice thing about taking it to a shop is that it'll come back clean... :)
