I just want to let everyone in on something that has been mentioned here before, but not for a long time, and hasn't really been given the mention it deserves.
I was recently looking to expand my base of reference material for working on my C900. I was a bit leery at first, but I decided to give the Alldata website a try.
I've been blown away. While it's no replacement for a Bentley manual, it is by far the best bang for your buck if you're looking for something more than the Bentley manual.
The material is all taken from Saab factory manuals and TSB's. I've tried buying a lot of these things on ebay, but they're rare and generally demand a high price if they're very useful.
The information you get is specific to the year and model for which you subscribe. This is a big plus over the paper manual because you don't have to filter the irrelevant info out. There is a disadvantage in this if you own multiple vehicles because you have to pay for additional subscriptions, but you do get a significantly discounted rate for these additional subscriptions. A 1-year subscription is $25 for one car and $15 for each additional or renewal, and a 3-year is $45 for one car and $30 for each additional or renewal.
I especially like that I can print out every diagram and procedure. I use paper that's already 3-hole punched so I can save it in a binder. You could realistically print out every diagram, procedure, and TSB from a factory manual set to keep in the garage if you wanted to.
I guess I have to mention that I DO NOT have any association with this website or any financial interest in passing on this info. If you check my posts, you'll see that I've been using this site for years now (there's a gap for the time that I had a 9-3 that was under warranty, RIP). I'm just really excited about it and I want to pass it on to the community. This website, the Bentley manual, the Alldata website, and my bootlegged Saab Electronic Parts CD I got on ebay make up a powerful arsenal of DIY info.
