I have a buddy who uses a valentine and i use whistlers. I was beind him one time and his detector went off about a hundred yards before mine. - THAT HUGE! I could see the lights come on from behind ad mine didn't detect for about 2 seconds. he of course didn't slow down and didn't see the cop til he was on top of him. I slowed to 75 while he slammed his brakes on almost causing me to run into him. - We were going 80 in a 65. - The cop was either sleeping or was looking for someone going faster. - I personally would've given him a ticket for being stupid and slamming on his brakes.... but back to the point. - A Valentine is by far the superior dedector. - Cost 2 times as much as mine, but it only takes one ticket advoidance to pay for itself. - - Best advice is to get a detector (anything but cheap ones) , then wait for someone to pass you and let them set off the radar gun giving you enough time to slow down.... There's always someone who wants to go faster than you....
