Labor alone at my shop would run you about 50 less then that. But at the gas station down the street that price sounds about right. All depends on where you go. High end independent shops often employ very experienced techs, pay them more, and subsequently pass that cost to the consumer. Quality of parts being used is also a question. Does that price include OEM or OEM brand rotors or the cheapest of the cheap? If you are comfortable w/the shop itself, and feel that they stand behind their work then go for it.
Bottom line, $300 sounds reasonable to me, but I work in one of the richest counties in the US (fairfax va) where a 500-1000$(jaguar s-type R) brake job is not unheard of. Don't even get me started on any car w/ceramic rotors.
