Put a 17 and 18 mm long socket under the two arms of the upper a-arm (as seen on fixmysaab.com. When you jack up the car it leaves enough room to just unbolt the lower ball joint. For the left side, turn the car to full lock to the left and pull on the bottom of the brake/hub assembly. The axle falls right out. Make sure you use at least a 17 mm socket or you won't have enough clearance. Made that mistake today.
