Turbo rebuild or replace

Hi - I have a rust free but also turbo free SPG. The turbo's impeller has a fair amount of play and makes an awful ghost-like, rubbing noise (as it is making contact with the housing) until it spools up. ... Then the power kicks in pretty well at high RPM.

I have an old mystery miles Turbo that was seized up at the touch when trying to spin the impeller. It's been worked free by force and now spins but does have minimal play - less than the one that's in the SPG though.

Question is, rebuild the original, toss in the spare, or ??? ... plus how would you rebuild one? I would prefer not to pay for a brand new one, but would like to get the power and pull the car is supposed to have. Meanwhile, don't want to put my brother through the trouble of doing the work only to have to do it all over again in five years when a used turbo has even more play. What's my best scenario?
Any thoughts?
