The information regarding the 4th injector comes from Brad S., who also noted that the injector should be at least 6 inches from the throttle plate to give the air/fuel time to mix. He never explained it but my assumption is that more of the fuel gets blown deeper into the manifold so #4 gets less, goes lean and...goes bad.
