There was a moonroof option on Saab C900's. I am not familiar with it.
If you mean sunroof, I am very familiar with it. The hardest part is properly lining up the cables.
The unit is under the rear lip of the trunkspace in the middle. There are 2 bolts that hold the gear mechanism to the 2 cables. Mark with masking tape which cable is up and which is down. You need to remove the 2 bolts without losing them. You then need to remove the 2 bolts securing the motor to the rear trunk lip. You then need to unplug the wires. That is it on removal.
As far as replacement, you need to make sure the top is centered and all the way closed. Replace the gear and tighten down. BEFORE replacing motor in stock position, hook up the wires and run the top to see if it is aligned. If it is WOO HOO. If not, look to see which side is running slow and advance it 1 link at a time.
Best,
C
