Despite what others may say, more than being an automatic was the description of the car, and probably the condition of the car.
1. Non-turbo engine in a turbo body, possible trouble.
2. Back window seperated.
3. Rust along passenger wheel well (always a no-no). Reads rust in other "non-mentioned" areas.
4. Buyer only wanted $1000 for car, looks like he got his wish.
5. Needs new tires (not a big deal) except when considered with everything else. "Rims painted gray with chrome outer lips" doesn't endear the car to SAAB enthusiasts.
6. Speedo cable broken, "so how many miles are there"? Conveniently while replacing a burned out bulb. I don't proclaim to be an expert, but most of the time, my non-working bulbs are just loose and they are at the top of the instrument cluster, not near the speedo cable.
7. Proclaiming that the car "drives fine" because of a 100 mile trip from Chesapeake to Nags Head does not carry the same weight as a trip from New York to Seattle.
8. "The car is not a turbo, benefits are better dependability", well tell that to everyone that owns a turbo, mine works just fine and is very dependable.
9. Inside could use some "elbow work". What exactly does that mean?
I think there are some cars that if you like the 900s, you just want to buy and others, you keep at arms length. I think this falls into the latter, elbows length. The seller got the price he wanted, hopefully, the buyer too.
The really true creampuffs are on this site's classified pages, great cars at reasonable prices sold buy those that know (usually) SAABs. There are some deals on ebay (I got one), but you know what they say, caveat emptor.
