Distributor "fitting" replacement... Posted by CBS [Email] (#969) [Profile/Gallery] (more from CBS) on Fri, 16 Nov 2007 09:17:43 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
A recent post talked about the fragility of the Hall Sensor wires in the distributor (I think I may have posted about this in the recent past also). Well, the plastic connector piece that slots into the side of the distributor where the three wires come through is shot. It is now hanging loose outside the distributor and the broken/missing plastic edge no longer holds it in place. The PO installed a Eeuro distributor kit, including new hall sensor, so I would hate to have to replace the whole thing. A trip to the dealer was suggested in a previous post, but the part is not available there. Has anyone been able to pull, at junk yard, just the plastic slotted piece, and somehow snake the intact wires into the "new" fitting/connector? THe '88 SPG runs fine with the connector hanging off the side of the distributor...can I just leave it like this (for the time being anyway?).
