I'm not noticing a tach bounce, but will look more closely next time. Oh, the cap&rotor are newish, and the plug wires are brand new, as is the coil. All replaced to try to fix this issue with no avail.

Important consideration: the check engine light illuminates when the car acts up like this. Without actually decoding the light, would any component (hall sensor, AIC valve, AMM, etc.) throw a code while it's having the idling problems? The CEL goes out after the car warms up after one of the wet startups.
