If it turns well when it does start to turn I wouldn't worry about battery or charging system. Doubt coolant shower bath did anything bad.
The solenoid contacts at the starter burn down and wear away over time, also the "Bendix" action of the plunger and levers that throw the drive into the flywheel gets stiff from old dried out and burnt grease.
And your ignition switch also stiffens up over time, and contacts burn.
Colder weather makes all stiff lube problems worse.
If it gets intolerable you could start trying fixes.
Is this an auto? If so also prone to trouble from dried grease and worn contacts are the slider contacts in the neutral start switch thingy, alongside shifter body under center console. It can be unscrewed, metal tabs pried open and its interior cleaned and relubed.
