I used a sheetrock screw and drilled in through the side of the glove compartment facia. Had to cut it a bit short so the screw wouldn't hit the center heat vent. Is it elegant? No! Does it work, yes. You can't see it as it is covered by the glove bow door and it is very solid and keeps the radio in place. (must admit, I am using the ABS approach on my current rebuilder.)
