From your question, I assume you have a '87 or newer car. There is the lens segment which houses the reflector as all one part. This is attached to an adjustment bracket that attaches to the car. Easiest fix is to replace the whole thing with a new or used set up. Takes 15 min. if you've done it before, 30 if not. To change the lens to a new bracket is also relatively easy. The lens portion snaps into the bracket. Its not difficult if your careful not to break anything. Do a search on headlights. It been covered a lot. All things considered, if you not handy, $100 is not too bad if he's going to do the whole job: remove, rebuild, reinstall, aim.
