there is a mechanic i rely on when i cant or have time to deal with problems that arise with my motor, even though i would love to tackle all the problems that arises my position leaves it utterly impossible. anyhow while talking with him i asked about the rebuilding the head, striping all the valves and replacing all seals and reapply it to the motor.
he said 1000 buxs
then i asked about a ring job, at which point he said, with the miles you have the ring job would not be economical, replacing the hole motor would be better, & then added if and when you burn up the valves not to rebuild the head but to pull the motor and drop in another even though the rings are fine its only a matter of time before they go.
so i asked how much would he charge to swap out a motor.
he said (1000 bux in labor you supply the motor.)
reading about your prices makes me think .... what are they talking about in replacing just one valve.
are they referring to your rings being bad and burning up all that oil
all it sounds like to me is they are confused with the board game life and they think they just landed on pay-day.
