My fuel level sender has never worked very well, and if anything, it seems to somehow be better with E85. It used to read 1/2 tank low with gasoline- now it reads 1/4 tank low. The low fuel light still works fine, which is important.
The main fuel pump's pumping parts, the cam and rollers, appear to be stainless, so they shouldn't be a problem. The copper parts of the pump motor are also impervious to alcohol, but it's possible that something in the pump will fail eventually. So far, though, it's strong and quiet.
The way I see it, all modern cars (yes, I include C900s in that group) are designed to be compatible with E10, which means they come with some level of alcohol resistance. If E85 means my fuel pump will last only 100k miles instead of 200+, that's not so bad. If I start getting major failures within 5 years and 50k miles, I'll probably switch back to gasoline, though complete gas tanks are cheap and plentiful at junkyards.
