Have you added your CE to the Commemorative Edition Registry? If not, please do. Just hit the link below.
Metallics are tough to paint. And you have a collectable car. You should stick with the nova black and search for a local shop with a good reputation. The value of a CE will drop like a rock if the paint job is bad. Also if you save a little money now and the paint job looks like crap in a year or two you'll be looking at total paint removal before having it painted again.
I was going to have my first CE repainted before I found my second one. The best paint shop around me was going to charge me $2500. That's with me removing all the trim and them preping and painting with a two-stage (base/clear) sytstem, and wetsanding to a show-quality finish afterwards.
The shop owner has a chopped 50 Merc with the deepest black paint job you'll ever see. He's won some national awards for that car and it's also graced the cover of three hot-rod magazines. His shop is always full of "special" cars. That's the kind of shop you need to find. Don't be surprised if theres a waiting list.
