... strictly speaking, it cannot be done with the equipment that comes standard on the car.
The steering wheel connects to the steering shaft, which connects to the pinion gear, which connects to the rack gear. There should be physical continuity with all those parts. Even with no power assist, the wheels turn in the commanded direction.
At the 2000 SOC track day at Lime Rock Park, we had a Classic 900 outfitted with reverse steering. This required the installation of a small differential (came from a vintage Saab, IIRC) in the driveshaft. If you've ever had both drive wheels of a car with an open differential off the ground, and turned one, you know the other wheel rotates in the opposite direction.
This was done as an exercise to see if the driver could overcome their natural tendencies with the steering and drive a small "autocross" course.
But the car mod, while not what you'd call extensive, was real, if well hidden.
One thing that could possibly be remotely considered to be like that is if the rack valve goes bad, and doesn't provide the assist in the desired direction, but tries to fight the driver.
The ONLY OTHER THING that could make it seem like this would be if somehow the steering shaft became disconnected from the pinion. If you did that in a turn, for instance, the car's natural tendency to straighten out might seem as though it was turning in the opposite direction.
I watched that happen to a vintage racer at Lime Rock. He was in the right hander leading up to the car bridge, and the leather steering coupler let go, and he sailed on into the tires on the left side...
Fortunately, the Saab 900 does not have leather steering couplers...
