capsule in hand, (removed from dizzy) you will see that there is an arm (actuator?) that goes into the capsule-this is what moves when vac/pressure is applied to capsule-got that ok? well, you will also note that under pos pressure it comes outwards, then hits the stop-a largeish pin, is the best way i can describe it. that movement allows for approx 5 deg retard under boost. so, 16 btdc retards to 11. what you want is to allow the actuator to move further out under pressure, to allow a few more deg retard. SO, get a small file or dremel in there, and remove a little of that pin's surface, the side that makes contact with the actuator. you want to make it as consistant as possible, down the length of the pin, because the actuator can hit slightly different places each time it comes out, and you want the set-up to be consistant. the amount that you remove is critical-i think we are talking 1/16" or so. the trick is to remove a little, put it on the car, then, with a timing light (you just bought one, i think?) and some pos pressure, you can retard the timing with approx 15psi and see how much it retards. you are aiming for as close to 10deg as possible. the ideal set-up, as i understand it, is to get timing up to about 20-21deg BTDC, and to retard down to 10-11 under 15psi pressure. too much, and the car will buck and squirm under full boost under 3k rpm. definately get a spare vac capsule to do this with.

incidently, apart from the fact that brads has a helper spring, i think, my 92t didn't really like this mod, but the 88spg just freakin' loved the same capsule! go figure...
