75-90w will be stiffer to shift when it's colder outside. 75-90w is an option, but it does put more pressure on the bearings. Don't know if you want this on an older, high mileage transmission. 10-30w is whats usually in them, so most people don't change whats be in there to begin with. Synthetic oil are said to be good and most of the Saab owners use "Redline", "Amsoil", and other brands. Synthetics definitely shift better in cold weather. I'm a regular oil guy and just run 10-30w. There is some information on adding a 1/8"- 1/4" taper drain plug to the trans. near the ring& pinion gear housing. I use an electric vacuum pump and a small hose to remove the oil. It takes a while this way. the main thing is to do regular oil changes, say around 30.000k miles. Also good to lube the shift coupling inside the car under the shift boot. Don't want to over-tighten the 1/8"-1/4" plug as it's tapered and can crack the housing. You'll have to search this site for the info.
