You can never go wrong with putting the same tyres that came on the car. The Pirelli P6 and the Michelin MXV4 were the Original Equipment on the SAABs. The Pirelli offers better all out grip but with a harsher ride. The Michelins offer a smoother ride with a tendendcy to rid cars of unwanted squeaks and rattles. They also give much better fuel economy. The 7% gain you would get in fuel economy would easily offset the price difference in the first year of driving. I would also like to point out that Michelin shod cars wear out suspension components far less then other tyre brands. Most of this is due to the fact that Michelin sidewalls absorbing inertia better then the other brands. The negative side of this is that they show sidewall damage, while other brands due not. This is not to say that the other brands do not have damage, just that it does not show immediately. If you purchase the tyre insurance then this should not be of concern. I would also like to point out that Michelins, if inflated with Nitrogen, lose hardly any pressure due to the fact that they spend more money on the Butyl inner liner then all other manufacturers. I hope that this was helpful.
