Last week I was certain that I blew my clutch slave so I ordered the 7 piece clutch kit from eEuro. I borrowed the tool to compress the clutch fingers. Because it is a turbo there is a bit of disassembly required to get to the clutch. After removing everything including the plastic cover (what a PITA that thing is) I pressed the clutch to confirm the failure. I then discovered that the clutch line was my actual failure. Fortunately I had a spare so I went I located it. Disconnecting the line at the clutch master takes alot of patience. Connecting the replacement line requires divine intervention. Fortunately I had a friend with the magic touch and he was able to get the line started. Because I had all of the hardware I decided to go ahead and replace everything. Because we had no press we ended up using the weight of the car to compress the new clutch fingers to get a piece of hood release cable under the fingers. (We jacked up the car, put a board under the tire, and used the old slave to push the fingers down as I slowly released the jack until we had the necessary space)Our wire tool was the larger size and could not be used with the new clutch. When we had it all back together it was time to bleed it out. I had read many of the horror stories here about the frustration involved in bleeding so I expected the worse. My line and slave were completely empty. I pumped for a minute or 2 and left the pedal up. He cracked the line and I pushed to the floor. Air came out. We repeated this a dozen times or so and we got fluid and pressure after about 10 times.
