Fuel line replacement

I need to replace the fuel return line on my '89 SPG. It's the rubber fuel line connecting to the bottom of the fuel pressure regulator. It looks like the rubber fuel hose connects to a plastic line in the engine bay? Is it just a matter of swapping out the hose? I have the correct fuel line and some new clamps. The hose was cracking at the connection on the bottom of the fpr and leaking fuel. There is not enough slack to cut the hose and push it further onto the fpr so replacement is next. Is it that straight forward or any other hints?
