rbcsaabs,
Oh, OK so you know the car's history. Difficulty shifting (almost any gear or combination of gears) is often a late sign of badly worn pinion bearings on high mileage units, 150K or so, but you always first want to be sure that it's not just due to a bad motor mount, sloppy, worn shift linkage or anything simple and external like that. Just replacing the old lube with fresh will often make shifting easier particularly if you change to one of the synth. MTLs. Being low on lube can hurt the internals and cause poor shifting so dealing with any significant leaks is important too. Good luck
