Car starts,runs 2 secs then dies, ck engine light on

I have a 94' 900 convertible ce. I love the car and have had many 900's which i have rebuilt. I have never experienced this problem before... I was out the other day running errands, came out of a store and the car wouldn't run. It would start and run for about 2-3 seconds and die. I tried a few times and was able to get it to run and run smooth for about 30 secs, and it even idled, then it died again. Had it towed home and now it will only run for 2 secs and die and when it does the ck engine light comes on. I checked the ignition system and that seems ok, it's acting like a fuel problem. I believe the gas in the tank is good as i've been driving on it. I don't have a pressure gauge to test the fuel pressure but it is pumping. I did the tests to the AIC valve and that checked out aand i even tried a different one. I've checked all the hoses and they are all sealed and tight. If this sounds familiar to you please help! thankyou in advance.
